Kitschy Kitchen #18 The Head-Knocker Microwave
It's a good thing the walls in this kitchen are red; because that's what you'd be seeing after trying to retrieve that cute little tea set on the counter to the right.
The microwave protrudes at just the right height to hit many a cook in the temple (+ - 60" as I judge). It's a bad spot for such an obtrusion because just above the eye is everyone's blind spot.
The microwave is also too high for all but the tallest cook to see into without a stool. That means awkwardly lifting , and possibly tilting and spilling the contents, every time you need to check doneness or stir.

Only if you promise to not make the same mistakes that an unnamed salesperson at your (now defunct) Burlingame store made with a client of mine that cost the client an additional $5K on a range hood.
ReplyDeleteYour sales person talked the client into "saving" a few hundred dollars by ordering a stock hood when I had very specifically specified a custom hood.
The hood didn't fit and the client was forced to reorder and pay full price on the replacement.
Real bummer.
I have a looong memory and have never been back.
